Karthik is a PhD student in the Tri-Institutional program in Computational Biology and Medicine. He is interested in integrating population genetics and functional genomics to decode rules governing gene regulation. Karthik previously studied data science and biology at UC San Diego and did his undergraduate research with Graham McVicker at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. In his free time, Karthik enjoys watching sports, playing the guitar, tennis, and running.
